For potential investors across the world, investing in UK property is not only right of passage, but a signifier and determinant of success.
For more than 20 years, it has outperformed the alternatives available to many. And It has been seen as one of the best investments available, in particular for busy private investors looking to grow wealth, building a more secure financial future, without sacrificing their time.
But the UK property market is fast-changing and increasingly complex. Approaches which once seemed to guarantee success, without much effort, are no longer viable.
UK property remains one of the most attractive asset classes available. But to succeed in this fast-changing, uncertain context, without sacrificing their time, investors of all scales need to be more strategic, value-focused, and professional in their approach, and they need to understand and navigate a complicated market. This is easier said than done.
As market and regulatory pressures have grown, so have the chances of making poor decisions, and expensive mistakes. The types of investor I’ve worked with over the course of my property career so far often have access to funding in excess of £1,000,000. And right now, they risk not only missing out on opportunities, but losing out on hundreds of thousands of pounds each year by not understanding the market, and how value is affected, and through not acting strategically and professionally.
